Tonic Polish X Femme Fatale Cosmetics Collab: Tonic Half

Hey all!

I'm back with the last set of polishes from Tonic's May 2017 release. "The Four Seasons" Collaboration between Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Tonic Polish consisted of four polishes - two from each brand. I have the Tonic half here for you. From Lindsey: "Inspired by Vivaldi's violin concertos, Sophie and I each chose seasons to model our colors after." I love the inspiration behind these and I can easily see how these shades came about from each "season." Onto the nail polish!

Bleeding Heart Sunset is an orchid-lavender base with strong glowing pink multichrome shimmer that shifts to peach and gold with scattered holo shimmer. This shade was inspired by the intense, sultry heat of the Summer Concerto. If I had to choose a favorite from the entire set, this would be it. The hint of peach in certain lighting is stunning and needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It has a great formula - 2 coats provide plenty of coverage. No texture to report.

Promise of Spring is inspired by the fresh, light hearted playfulness of Vivaldi's Spring Concerto. It's described as a pale metallic yellow-green Lumichrome that shifts to mint green and blue with a scattered holo finish. I used three coats of this shade, but I believe two coats should be sufficient for people with shorter nails or who tend to paint with thicker coats. I also want to mention that this one can get brush stroke-y if you're not careful (like me, hence the 3 coats instead of 2). Just make sure that you use a thicker coat for the final coat and it shouldn't be a problem (float the polish, FLOAT IT!).

So what do you think of this set? Do you think it represents Vivaldi's Spring and Summer Concertos well? Personally, I can easily see the inspiration represented in these two. And I really love Bleeding Heart Sunset!

Until next time!

Tonic Polish May Birthday Duo

Hello beautiful readers,

Today I'm adding photos of Tonic Polish's May Birthday Duo, which was released in May 2017 along with their Spring 2017 Collection (posted here yesterday). This is a special Limited Edition duo that consists of two polishes created in honor of Lindsey's son Nico's 4th Birthday! How sweet is that?! I love the names of these, the love and intent behind their creation, and the colors themselves! They are definitely two of my favorite Tonic's everrr.

First up is You'll Move Mountains, described as a "straight up glowing emerald green." I'd say "glowing" is the perfect word to describe this polish. Do you see this?! It has a great, problem-free formula that covers in 2-3 coats, depending on your application style and nail length. I used three coats plus topcoat for my photos. No texture issues to report.

The Places You'll Go is an emerald green base with green - blue - purple - pink - gold shifting multichrome shimmer. This one is so multidimensional and unique! You truly need to see it in person to really appreciate it completely. It almost has an oil spill type appearance at certain angles. Ughhh, it's just PHENOMENAL! The formula was pretty similar to You'll Move Mountains. I used 3 coats plus topcoat for each of my photos, but again you may get coverage with two.

Knowing May's birthstone is the Emerald, I can't picture a more perfect set of polishes to represent it! Not only that, but they're both just effing stunning in every sense of the word. I don't know how Lindsey does it, but she has the magic touch! I believe these two shades will be available at a few restocks on Tonic's website in the future, as well as at a few of Tonic's stockists: Color4NailsGirly Bits Cosmetics, or Femme Fatale Cosmetics. And be sure to follow Tonic Polish on Instagram and join the Facebook fan group to stay up to date on the brand's latest releases and sales!

Tonic Polish Spring 2017 Collection

Hello there, lovely readers!

Long time, no talk. After deciding to make the transition over to Instagram mainly for sharing my swatch photos, it's now time for me to come all the way back. As much as I enjoy the platform, the recent changes and my penchant for being long winded, have pushed me back to my original love. So, if you've been following me on Instagram (http://instagram.com/polishforthepeople), I truly hope you'll make the jump back here with me! I love my followers and am extremely grateful for the audience I've grown over there. Your patience and willingness to stick through this transition are greatly appreciated. I will be beginning the fairly lengthy process of adding the content I've created on Instagram to the blog here. So you will likely see releases that have been out for a year, if not longer, for the first few posts. After I've gotten the main sum of my content transferred, I'll be back to posting new content here. So without further ado, I'm sharing Tonic Polish's gorgeous Spring 2017 Collection here today. This collection first debuted on tonicpolish.com on May 7th 2017. These six shades are considered "core" colors so they should sporadically pop up for sale for a bit yet.

I Pink You Blue Me Off is my favorite shade from the Spring 2017 collection (although, it's not an easy collection to pick a favorite from). I'm just such a sucker for that intense contrasting shimmer and that perfect blue base is to diiiie for! (*heart eyes all around*) It's described as a bright blue creme with strong pink shimmer that shifts to yellow. Oh and it has a fantastic formula! I found it to be on the thick side, but I mean "thick" in the best possible way. I needed only minimal cleanup because the formula sat so perfectly where I applied it and it self leveled like a dream. I applied two coats of I Pink You Blue Me Off plus one coat of topcoat. It does dry to a slightly satin finish without the topcoat.

Deep Sea-crets is a bright turquoise creme with strong peachy-pink shimmer that shifts to yellow. This shade has the same great formula as I Pink You Blue Me Off. I used two coats plus topcoat and found that to be plenty of coverage for me. This one also dries a bit satin-y without topcoat.

Endless Shrimp is the third and final creme based shimmer from Tonic's Spring 2017 Collection. It's described as a soft coral creme with pale green shimmer. It has the exact same formula as the previous two shimmers, satin finish and all. I normally don't go for this particular shade of coral, but I ended up really liking how it looked!

Aurora Sunrise is an orchid-leaning pink jelly with strong turquoise to purple shifting shimmer and ultra holo microglitters. It has a nice formula that was opaque for me in 3 coats (but depending on your nail length and how thick of coats you apply, you may be good with two). Jellies sometimes give me trouble, so I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this one was to to work with.

Titanium Orchid is the first of two multichromes that were released as part of this collection. It's a pale metallic multichrome that shifts from cool lavender to peach to gold with a scattered holo finish. Titanium Orchid is one of the members of Tonic's infamous "Lumichrome" family. I looooove this polish! It's surprisingly unique to my collection and it's just absolutely stunning. I had full coverage in 3 thin coats with this shade and found the formula to be very easy to work with.

Foxfire, the other multichrome, shifts from metallic rose-gold to yellow-gold with a scattered holographic shimmer. This polish, along with Titanium Orchid, has this amazing ethereal glow in any kind of light setting. I could stare at these kinds of shades for hours. Foxfire has the same formula as Titanium Orchid as well. I used 3 thin coats plus topcoat for my photos.

If you're not a part of Tonic Polish's fan group on Facebook, I highly recommend checking it out. It's a really fun, friendly group where you'll get to see lots of sneak peeks and get to stay up to date on any sales or coming releases. You can find it by searching "Tonic Nail Polish" in the Facebook search bar and make sure to complete the entrance questions.

Lynnderella Friday - Orange You A Saucy Little Cranberry and Torrid As Her Glance..

Hello radiant readers!

I've got another edition of Lynnderella Friday for you. Although I'm thinking it really should be changed to Lynnderella Saturday at this point :/. The little time I get for myself usually consists of the few hours between when my toddler goes to sleep and when I go to sleep so I apologize that many of my posts are so late at night! Anyways, I've got some fun Lynnderellas to show you today so I hope you're excited to see them.

This beautiful microglitter is Orange You A Saucy Little Cranberry. This one is "a deep cranberry microglitter sweetened with a holographic edge, assorted orange and red accents in a red- and pink-sparked clear base." I used two coats with topcoat. I don't know why I haven't tried this one sooner! It's so my kind of color. I will be wearing this one a lot more often now that I've discovered how great it looks on the nail. Easy formula, perfect color. I'm callin' it a win!

This next one I knew I would love. In fact I hunted it down for a few months because I wanted it so badly. It didn't disappoint. This super fun topper is Torrid As Her Glance.., a clear microglittered base containing assorted satin teals contrasted with neon red, purple and green glitters. This is one coat over Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Go Deep (another beautiful polish that I will have for you in an upcoming post). I love everything about it!

Sadly, I believe both of these Limited Edition Lynnderella polishes are now discontinued. I know for certain that Torrid As Her Glance... is, but it's possible that I'm wrong about Orange You A Saucy Little Cranberry. Keep an eye on Lynnderella's Ebay Shop because it may pop up in a future auction, and they've got a ton of other great polishes over there too! You can also purchase Lynnderella's Core Collection from the storenvy shop. If you'd like to stay up to date on new releases from the brand, follow them on social media, including their Facebook page and Instagram account

What did you think of the two polishes in today's post? Do you have a Lynnderella or any polish that you hunted down for months? The struggle is real... ;)

Have a fabulous weekend!

Colors By Llarowe Vegas 2015 and the Go Faster Collection swatches

Hello lovely readers,

I hope you're all having a good week so far, and woo hoo! It's finally Friday (well almost). I've been working on swatching for the majority of theweek and will be pumping out posts as quick as I can for all of you. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you've had a peek at a few of the upcoming posts, but trust me, there are many more still. So stay tuned! Tonight I've got some beautiful CBL's aka Colors By Llarowe to show you! All four of the polishes featured in this post are seriously stunning and unique to my collection. Get excited!

The first three polishes I have today are from CBL's recently released Limited Edition Go Faster Collection, which was created to benefit Llarowe's office manager, Deanna's passion for racing. All proceeds raised from this collection will go straight into making Deanna's mustang even better!

This perfect pink is Fast Girls, a neon pink crelly with violet shimmer. Just when I thought I had all the pink polishes I could ever need (HAHAHA right...), this baby showed up! The shimmer in this one is breathtaking in person and in photos. LOVE IT! This is three coats with topcoat, but you can totally get away with just two. Awesome formula.

Next is Need For Speed, a black linear holo with intense pink, gold, and copper shimmer. I'm probably going to sound redundant in this post, but oh well, I LOVE THIS! I did not want to take this polish off to continue swatching. It is so damn mesmerizing in person. You NEED IT! Two easy peasy coats with top coat.

The last polish from the Go Faster Collection is Girls Shift Faster, a deep lilac crelly with intense pink to gold to red shimmer. Again, you need this. It's purple perfection in a polish bottle. This is 3 super easy coats with top coat. I didn't need the 3rd coat again, but sometimes I just can't help myself. ; P

Finally I have the Vegas 2015, a polish you could only get by winning a raffle hosted by Llarowe. Fifty bottles were available and proceeds were donated in equal portions to the following:  RSDSA (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy research), The Shady Tree (domestic violence shelter in Las Vegas) and the Kathleen Foster Trust (trust account set up by the daughters of a member of the polish community that passed away suddenly). I was so excited to see this beauty in my package that I immediately used it and have used it quite a few times since then. It is on the sheer side, but I actually like the effect with this one. I used 3 coats with top coat for the swatches below. You can see a bit of VNL in the photos, but it was much less pronounced in person. Another one that I really LOVE!

Wow that is one gorgeous blog post! :) Sadly these will no longer be available on Llarowe.com, BUT you can still get them or will be able to get them in the very near future through the following stockists: Harlow & Co., Hypnotic Polish, and Rainbow Connection UK. Vegas 2015, however, was created only for the raffle and will not be for sale. If you'd like to keep up with the latest news and restocks from Colors By Llarowe, follow them on their social media accounts: Instagram and Facebook.

I will be back tomorrow with a Lynnderella Friday! See you then :)

Mega Lynnderella Friday! - Jammy is my Jam, Lavender's Latest Selfie, Love is All Around, and Connect the Dots,

Hey everyone,

First I want to apologize for my lack of posting lately. I've taken on a bit more than usual this month and haven't had a lot of time to do many activities that I actually ENJOY doing, like blogging. But next month is looking up and I'm hoping to get back into a routine. So today I've got a MEGA Lynnderella Friday for you which includes all 4 polishes I had lined up. This post will be a bit picture heavy so I'm going to try not to write a novel. : P

*Products in post were provided for my honest review.*

First I have Jammy is My Jam, a "holographic-edged fuchsia microglitter with assorted red, pink and magenta accents in an intensely magenta- and blue-shimmered, magenta-tinted clear base." It's shown here in two coats with two coats of Seche Vite top coat. It was on the thick side, but not difficult to work with.

Next up is Lavender's Latest Selfie, another beautiful microglitter. This one is described as "lavender and holographic microglitter with assorted lavender accents in a lilac-shimmered clear base with a blue glow." This one had a similar formula to Jammy is My Jam, and I also used two coats with two coats of Seche Vite.

This next one is Love is All Around, from Lynnderella's core line. It's described as "assorted magenta, red and pink round glitters with fuchsia microglitter and a pink-shimmered clear base." This is one coat brushed over Chaos & Crocodiles Spun Sugar Magic. I really love the mixture of glitters in this one!

Last is the quintessential Lynnderella, Connect the Dots. This is THE polish that started it all for many of us in the indie nail polish community. It's fairly obvious why it's such a popular one with how versatile it is. I can see myself wearing this over so many different polishes. This is one coat brushed over a few different Lilypad Lacquers, including Elle Ann Exclusives: Bubblegum Fizz, Tarty Tangerine, and Berry Blast along with Llarowe's exclusive: You Rock. I love how it turned out!

Lynnderella Lacquers are available on their Storenvy site as well as on their Ebay store. Keep in mind that the Limited Edition polishes, such as Jammy is My Jam and Lavender's Latest Selfie, are only available via auction on the ebay store. Also be sure to follow their Instagram account and Facebook page to keep up with all the latest news on the brand.

What did you think of this week's Lynnderella's? Which one is your favorite? Mine is definitely Connect the Dots just because I'm picturing all the different polishes I can top it with, but it's certainly hard to pick.

Lynnderella Friday: Groom TBD and Common Sense

Hi everyone,

It's time for another edition of Lynnderella Friday. Today's post is on the picture heavy side so I'm going to do my best to keep it short and sweet otherwise. The two polishes I have for you today are Groom TBD and Common Sense. If you'd like to check out the swatches, keep on reading!

*some products in today's post were provided for my honest review*

First I have the Limited Edition Lynndrella, Groom TBD, "a translucent white with blue shimmer and assorted blue iridescent accents." Haha, I love the name. I decided to layer it over a white base and I'm happy with the final result, but I will say for anyone wishing to apply it the same way: use a good quality white base, because mine sucked. I couldn't find my usual white polish and used some random brand I had lying around and because of that, I had issues applying the Lynnderella as well. However, when I tested Groom TBD on it's own, I had no issues with application at all.  So lesson learned! The photos show two coats of Groom TBD over 2 coats of white polish with top coat. If you don't use it over nail polish from hell itself, you will only need one coat of Groom TBD to get the same effect. : P

^ You know a polish has some gorgeous shimmer when your camera spazzes out when trying to photograph it. ;)

Next up I have a sadly discontinued Lynnderella Core collection polish, Common Sense. It has a mix of pink, fuschia, and copper square and hex glitters along with some microglitter in a clear base. This one is a glitter BOMB! It's very densely packed so you will have no trouble picking up enough with the brush. No fishing required. This is one coat brushed on over Ethereal Lacquer Moon of my Life. I'm really loving how this combination turned out.

Groom TBD is a Limited Edition Lynnderella Lacquer so it is only available via auction on Lynnderella's Ebay store. Common Sense is a discontinued core polish so it is no longer available for purchase, but you can find Lynnderella's other core polishes on their Storenvy shop. If you'd like to stay up to date on all of the latest releases and sales, be sure to head over to Lynnderella's Facebook page and click the "like" and "follow" options and follow them on Instagram

What did you think of this week's picks for Lynnderella Friday? Anything you're hoping to see in the future? Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a wonderful weekend!
