Tonic Polish X Femme Fatale Cosmetics Collab: Tonic Half

Hey all!

I'm back with the last set of polishes from Tonic's May 2017 release. "The Four Seasons" Collaboration between Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Tonic Polish consisted of four polishes - two from each brand. I have the Tonic half here for you. From Lindsey: "Inspired by Vivaldi's violin concertos, Sophie and I each chose seasons to model our colors after." I love the inspiration behind these and I can easily see how these shades came about from each "season." Onto the nail polish!

Bleeding Heart Sunset is an orchid-lavender base with strong glowing pink multichrome shimmer that shifts to peach and gold with scattered holo shimmer. This shade was inspired by the intense, sultry heat of the Summer Concerto. If I had to choose a favorite from the entire set, this would be it. The hint of peach in certain lighting is stunning and needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It has a great formula - 2 coats provide plenty of coverage. No texture to report.

Promise of Spring is inspired by the fresh, light hearted playfulness of Vivaldi's Spring Concerto. It's described as a pale metallic yellow-green Lumichrome that shifts to mint green and blue with a scattered holo finish. I used three coats of this shade, but I believe two coats should be sufficient for people with shorter nails or who tend to paint with thicker coats. I also want to mention that this one can get brush stroke-y if you're not careful (like me, hence the 3 coats instead of 2). Just make sure that you use a thicker coat for the final coat and it shouldn't be a problem (float the polish, FLOAT IT!).

So what do you think of this set? Do you think it represents Vivaldi's Spring and Summer Concertos well? Personally, I can easily see the inspiration represented in these two. And I really love Bleeding Heart Sunset!

Until next time!
